From St. Thomas (STT) the easiest way to get here is by flying directly to Virgin Gorda (VIJ). The scheduled airline that provides this service is called Air Sunshine (www.airsunshine.com/SJU-VIJ.htm). Charter airlines that provide this service include Air America (www.airamericacaribbean.com) and Fly BVI (www.bviaircharters.com).

Alternatively, you can also get from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda by ferry. The ferry dock in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas is a 10-minute taxi ride from the St. Thomas airport.

There is daily ferry service between St. Thomas and Virgin Gorda. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays a company called Speedy’s (www.bviferries.com) offers direct ferry service from Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda. The boat ride takes 1.5 hours. Because Virgin Gorda will be your first and only stop after leaving the U.S. you will have to clear Customs and Immigration when you arrive. This typically takes 15-20 minutes.

Other daily scheduled ferry options (www.bviwelcome.com/ferries.php) will take you from Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas to Road Town, Tortola where you can transfer to a ferry to Virgin Gorda. Numerous ferry companies offer service on both of these routes. The ferry ride from St. Thomas to Tortola takes 1 hour. Because Tortola will be your first stop outside the U.S., you will need to get off the boat to clear Customs and Immigration before proceeding to Virgin Gorda. This typically takes 15-20 minutes. You will then depart from the same dock for the 30-minute ferry ride from Road Town, Tortola to Virgin Gorda.

From San Juan (SJU), the easiest way to get here is by flying directly to Virgin Gorda (VIJ).  Scheduled airlines that provide this service are Cape Air (www.capeair.com) and Air Sunshine (www.airsunshine.com/SJU-VIJ.htm).  Charter airlines that provide this service include Air America (www.airamericacaribbean.com) and Fly BVI (www.bviaircharters.com).

From San Juan you can also fly to the island of Tortola (EIS) and then take a 15-minute boat ride to Virgin Gorda.  Scheduled airlines that provide this service are Cape Air (www.capeair.com), Seaborne Airlines (www.seaborneairlines.com), and Air Sunshine (www.airsunshine.com/sju-eis.htm).

If you fly into Beef Island, Tortola you will take Speedy's Ferry (http://www.bviferries.com) from Beef Island, Tortola to Virgin Gorda.

Easy Seaborne Booking on AA.com

Effective Monday, February 18, 2013, Seaborne launched its first interline arrangement with a major carrier—American Airlines which will make connections from all of Seaborne cities to San Juan even easier. Baggage will transfer between Seaborne and American on the ramp in San Juan as opposed to having to be rechecked with the other carrier and soon Seaborne will be issuing boarding passes on American flights. Seaborne also recently relocated to Gate 18, in Termina D at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan. The check-in counter is close to the American counter in Concourse D. Seaborne flights are now displayed and sold on AA.com as part of this new arrangement.
