As locals who live and work on Virgin Gorda, we’ve put together one of our favorite 7-night itineraries, combining island must-sees with the restaurants, excursions and local experiences we regularly recommend to our guests.
Consider this inspiration, not a schedule you have to follow. This is island time.
DAY 1 | Welcome to Virgin Gorda
You’ve arrived! Pick up your rental car and make your way to your villa – your private home in the Caribbean for the next seven nights.
We highly recommend having a rental car. Virgin Gorda may only be about 8.5 miles long, but your own vehicle gives you the freedom to explore beaches, restaurants and hidden corners whenever the mood strikes.
Once you’ve unpacked, resist the urge to immediately start sightseeing. Pour a drink. Take a swim. Step onto the terrace and take in the view. For your first evening, keep things casual with dinner and drinks at Bath & Turtle in Spanish Town.
DAY 2 | The Baths, Devil’s Bay & CocoMaya
You simply can’t visit Virgin Gorda without experiencing The Baths. Explore enormous granite boulders, hidden grottoes, tidal pools and crystal-clear water, then follow the trail through to beautiful Devil’s Bay.
Afterward, make your way to nearby Spring Bay, another spectacular beach framed by Virgin Gorda’s signature granite boulders. Head back to your villa for a swim, nap or leisurely afternoon.
Tonight, make a reservation at CocoMaya. With its beachfront setting, creative cocktails and Asian- and Latin-inspired cuisine, it’s one of our favorite places for a special evening.
DAY 3 | Island-Hop the BVI
Spend the day aboard a private powerboat exploring our sister islands and some of the BVI’s best snorkeling spots, beaches and beach bars.
Head toward Jost Van Dyke for White Bay and the Soggy Dollar Bar, explore the caves and snorkeling around Norman Island, stop at Cooper Island, or create your own combination of islands and secluded snorkeling spots.
DAY 4 | Your Villa. Your Pool. Nowhere You Need to Be.
Yes, we are officially scheduling a day to do absolutely nothing. Sleep late. Make breakfast. Float in your pool. Read a book. Wander down to the beach. Take an afternoon nap.
Bring the spa to you with an in-villa massage from Touch of the Caribbean Spa. Then have dinner come to you: a private chef can prepare a memorable meal right in your villa while you enjoy cocktails on the terrace.

DAY 5 | A Day in North Sound
Head to Gun Creek and hop aboard the complimentary boat shuttle across North Sound to Saba Rock or Bitter End Yacht Club. With a little planning, you can experience both.
At Saba Rock, settle in for lunch overlooking North Sound, enjoy a cocktail and take in the incredible surroundings. At Bitter End, enjoy waterfront dining, drinks, watersports and the relaxed sailing culture that has made North Sound famous.
If you’re at Saba Rock in the late afternoon, stick around for the daily tarpon feeding at 5:00 PM. Watching these enormous fish gather around the dock for feeding time is quite a show – and always a favorite with our guests.
DAY 6 | Choose Your Own Virgin Gorda Adventure
By now, you’ve probably settled comfortably into island time, so today is all about choosing what sounds good.
Feeling energetic? Hike Gorda Peak for beautiful views across Virgin Gorda and the surrounding islands. Want to get back on the water? Rent a paddleboard or kayak from Blue Rush Watersports. Or simply pack a cooler and spend the day beach hopping – Savannah Bay, Spring Bay, Mahoe Bay and Long Bay are all worth discovering.
Tonight, head to Nail Bay for cocktails and dinner at Sugarcane.
DAY 7 | One Last Day in Paradise
Don’t over-plan your final day. Go back to the beach you loved most. Pick up a few souvenirs. Have a long lunch. Take one last swim in your villa pool. Maybe you do absolutely nothing at all.
Most importantly, make sure you’re back at your villa in time for one final sunset. Open a bottle of wine, make a cocktail and take in the view.
Because one of the best things about staying in a private villa isn’t necessarily what you do while you’re here. It’s having your own little piece of Virgin Gorda to come home to at the end of every day.

- Copper Mine National Park – Historic ruins and dramatic coastline on the southeastern tip of Virgin Gorda.
- Go Beach Hopping – Savannah Bay, Spring Bay, Mahoe Bay, Long Bay, Devil’s Bay… find your favorite.
- Snorkel From Shore – Keep a mask and fins in the car and explore whenever the water looks inviting.
- Hog Heaven – Head high into the hills above North Sound for incredible panoramic views across the BVI.
A Few Things to Arrange Before You Arrive
Virgin Gorda is wonderfully relaxed, but a little advance planning goes a long way – especially during our busier months.
We recommend arranging your rental car and private boat charter before arrival, along with any private chef dinners or in-villa spa treatments you’d like to enjoy.
For dining, we strongly recommend making reservations ahead of time for CocoMaya, Sugarcane, Saba Rock and Bitter End Yacht Club, as well as the formal restaurant at Leverick Bay if you plan to dine there. More casual spots such as Bath & Turtle and Leverick Bay’s Friday Night Beach BBQ are perfect for keeping things a little more spontaneous.
And then leave some space in your itinerary. Some of the best Virgin Gorda days are the ones when you wake up, look at that beautiful Caribbean water and decide what you feel like doing next.
